Highways light up at night without electricity

A futuristic highway that can save energy and improve road safety is set to be installed in the Netherlands by mid-2013. Two companies, Studio Roosegaarde and Heijmans Infrastructure, came up with the highway, which includes: glow-in-the-dark road markings painted with photo-luminescent paint which are charged during the day and light up during the night; temperature-responsive paint which indicates slippery roads when temperatures fall below zero; and interactive lights along the highway that light up as cars approach. Wind lights that light up using the draft produced by cars and priority induction lanes that can recharge electric cars as they run along them also feature.
The luminous road markings and weather indicating roads will debut in the Dutch province of Brabant in the middle of next year. The wind powered and interactive lights along with the induction lanes are also planned to go into service in the next years.

Unbox a Lamborghini – One of the Most Unique Unboxing Ever Seen

If you go to YouTube and search for “product unboxings”, will find the network flooded with submissions of camera, smartphone, tablet, and even computer unboxings to show consumers exactly what they will get upon receiving their shiny new electronic device. But out of the mass of Apple, Google, Microsoft, Canon, and Nikon products to be seen, one of the most unique unboxings ever seen belongs to Lamborghini.
The series of photos below show a crew of men unboxing a Lamborghini Reventón, one of only 21 ever made by the supercar company in 2008. At $1.5 million dollars a vehicle, it is definitely not a product for the average online shopper, but it still makes for an awesome reveal when this particular car was delivered to Las Vegas for the debut of the series.

Performance
The most remarkable part that Wheelsandmore did for the SL63 AMG is the Engine. The 5.5L V8 engine gets the right adjustments that lead to its improved performance. The German tuner boosted the performance of the new Seven-11 by adding a new flap-controlled exhaust system, sports catalyst, remapped software and an optimized air induction.
With these features, the engine can now deliver 700 horsepower up from 537 and 811 lbs-ft of torque up from 664. They added an electronic lowering module called Low MaXX, it is responsible for lowering the ABC suspension. The module switches off at 70 km/h, providing safety and comfort reserves.
Exterior
Wheelsandmore are known for paying much attention to the wheels. For the SL63 AMG, they continue this tradition. This time round, they have fitted the Seven-11 version with 10 by 20 inches 3-piece 6Sporz forged alloy wheels at the front and wrapped them with 255/30/20 tires. The back gets the same type of wheel but measuring 12 by 20 inches and wrapped with 305/25/20 tires.
The German tuners are also offering the wheel/tire combination in 20/21-inch staggered combination. The paint is Armageddon Matte-gray mixed with Light-Matte-Black finish. This is topped with the customary Wheelsandmore race-stripe. The interior details are still not available for the time.
Although Mercedes offers the original Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, the modifications the popular German tuner gives, makes the 2012 Wheelsandmore Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG Seven-11 more than appealing.

Ugur Sahin Aston Martin Gauntlet Concept

By definition, the word “gauntlet” refers to the convergence of two parallel tracks in a narrow place. The Aston Martin Gauntlet takes this definition to a whole new level. Car designer Ugur Sahin has succeeded in overlapping and complementing the past and the future with the classic silhouette that the brand is known for and a futuristic design. In a nutshell, it is like the offspring of the One-77 and DB AR1 then giving it an extreme, total makeover.
A gauntlet is also an armored glove. The Aston Martin Gauntlet would make you feel as if you were wearing a complete set of armor, ready for battle. The overall design of the car is truly intimidating.
Some might call the Aston Martin Gauntlet aggressive or sinister, or even seductive. The way the headlights are designed gives you the impression that the car is luring you in for the ride of your life. The wide front grille roars power, contributing to the aggressive feel.
Since this is a concept car, there is no available information on specifications yet. But some features worth taking note of include the organic headlights, the high front and rear fenders, and double exhausts with a honeycomb part above the diffuser.

2013 Bentley Continental GT3 Concept Racer

Bentley will be returning to racing for the first time in almost a decade, thanks to the racing tuned 2013 Bentley Continental GT3 Concept Racer.
The Concept Racer capitalizes on outstanding high-speed stability, exceptional performance and renowned durability of the Continental GT Speed. Bentley intends to achieve this while tailoring its track's specification with the adoption of all-inclusive aerodynamic package, rear-wheel-drive chassis, and high-tech motorsport hardware in compliance with the regulations.
Engine
The Continental GT3 Concept Racer will have a 6.0L W-12 engine, which is expected to be changed to a V8 in the future. Bentley has not yet announced the power output of this racer, but if they were to borrow the 6.0L twin-turbocharged W-12 from the GT Speed; then, the output numbers can be expected to be around 616 hp and 590 lbs-ft of torque.
With the rear-wheel drive in place, it's no doubt that the GT3 will be doing away with the AWD system. In addition, the GT Speed's 8-speed automatic gearbox is also likely to be abandoned for a racier transmission.
Exterior & Interior
The exterior and interior specifications have yet to be provided, but it is expected that the car will come with a redesigned rear and front bumpers for aerodynamics, air intakes, flared wheel-arches of a race car, wide fenders, massive rear spoiler as well as center locking wheels.

The interior is made of high-end materials. The GT3 Concept Racer currently has an overall weight of 5,115 pounds.
The development of the 4-seat 2013 Bentley Continental GT3 Concept Racer is expected to continue in the next few months. The GT3 Concept has already received full support from the FIA, and is expected to be featured in motorsport arena including the Le Mans 24-hour marathon later in 2013.
All in all, it will face competition from rivals like Chevrolet Corvettes, Porsche 911s and Ferrari 458 Italias among others.

2010 Bertone Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept

To commemorate Alfa Romeo’s one-hundredth year anniversary, Bertone returned to the international scene to unveil a concept car: the magnificent Pandion. This beautiful, yet aggressive, coupe is the first car produced by Bertone’s new Brand and Design Director, Mike Robinson. The inspiration behind the sports car’s name and design is the Pandion haliaetus. This sea hawk, commonly known as the Osprey, lives near the coast and preys on fishes.
The 2010 Bertone Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept boasts of its unique ‘Skin and Frame’ body design that perfectly blends elegance and technology together. The ‘skin’, which is the snake in the logo, represents the seductive and magnificent form of this Italian masterpiece, while the ‘frame’, which refers to the cross, represents the mechanical excellence of the car. Inspired by the natural grace and strength of the Osprey’s wings, Mike Robinson and his team designed the door to open in a striking manner, ending up in a perfect 90-degree above the rear-wheel of the coupe. The interior of this exreme sports car is another sight to behold. The design of the two front chairs resembles chaise-lounges that are incredibly thin and possess carbon fiber shells that mimic the exterior of the car. The whole interior seems to be floating in mid-air creating a ‘zero-gravity’ ambiance.
Looking under the hood, the 2010 Bertone Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept is powered by a 4.7-liter 450 CV 8-cylinder engine that delivers 444 horsepower.
