BMW Designs A 42-Wheel, 19-Engine Car To Fulfill One Child's Fantasy

When Jalopnik posted a story about one of its readers’ nephews 42-wheeled dream vehicle, calling upon its fan base to send in their renderings of the 19-engine super machine, we said to ourselves, “that’s a bit of a larf.”  Little did we expect that BMW’s marketing department would stick one of its Photoshop wizards on the case.
The result is called the 4219Eli. What does the name mean? Well 42 for the number of wheels, 19 for the number of engines, and “Eli” is the name the four-year-old who dreamt it up. Arguably the original concept called for Porsche engines. Clearly, BMW figured some compromises had to be made.
Features of the 4219Eli include a toy trunk, three driving positions, a custom vanity plate, and a bunch of air intakes – and you’d need a bunch of air to let those 19 engines breathe.
Of course BMW finished the 42-wheeled beast with its iconic BMW racing colors and a couple M badges because no mega BMW would be complete without either.
Fuel economy specs aren’t yet known for the 4219Eli but combined power output has been pegged at 8,721 horses or just shy of eight Bugatti Veyron Super Sports. Neither Eli nor BMW have specified the transmission options that will transfer power to the 42 wheels – three on each axle – but we wouldn’t be surprised if it weren’t at least a couple eight-speed automatics and a few 7-speed manuals.
Not surprisingly, being the kind of dorks that we are, the first question we posed in our morning meeting was, “What kind of tech is there on the inside?” Again, this wasn’t made clear. Based upon Eli’s uproarious imagination, we can only suspect it’s pretty fantastical – and includes lasers — lots of lasers
No word yet on a plug-in hybrid or EV version of the 4219Eli. Given the current automotive climate, one will surely have to follow but will likely only be sold in California and Oregon.

THE GERMAN SOUND TANK

Berlin-based artist
Nik Nowak likes to rock his audience with strange looking mobile sound systems that emit bass-driven electronic music. His creations bear names like Baron Bass, Sackkarre (sack barrow), and Mobile Booster, and pair powerful speakers with extravagant vehicles. His latest bass monster, “Panzer,” is intimidating even after its title lets you know what to expect. Nik Nowak modified a mini-dumper machine with elaborate audio equipment and loudspeakers to create the vehicle, and on the occasion of the opening of the presentation of Panzer at Infernoesque Gallery in Berlin on September 9, 2011, Nik Nowak played live on his tank.

Nik Nowak likes aggressive music and the physical experience of bass. In general, he starts conceiving his machines with drawings and mockups from wood and Styrofoam. Then he realizes the real thing in steel, wood and fiberglass.
Nik Nowak was born in 1981 in Mainz / Germany. He lives and works in Berlin. Nik Nowak studied at the UDK Unversität der Künste in Berlin with Prof. Lothar Baumgarten.

Mithos Electromagnetic Concept Vehicle

This concept is made by Tiago Miguel Inácio, a Portuguese designer. He drew inspiration not just from the Batmobile but from other prototype cars as well. The result is a very sleek vehicle with flowing lines and a futuristic look. Firstly, it’s powered by a 1.5 megawatt electric motor – or if you like to speak in horsepower that’s 2,011hp. Secondly, the body is created from an as yet undiscovered composite called H-Fiber which is crash resistant, and also has shape memory – making trips to the body shop a thing of the past. Thirdly, the Mithos features a Terrain Scanning System (TSS) which adapts the car’s suspension and traction settings depending on the road ahead.
“The video teaser was created to give the viewer a good audiovisual experience and somehow illustrate how an electric supercar sounds and feels like.”

How to open a car door "BMW" on the way Russian[VIDEO]

We offer you a new video showing the process of opening the car door German "BMW" but Russia's exotic way.

The video shows how a young man and his crew assistant of friends smashed glass side of the driver's door to be able to open the car, and we do not believe that this robbery because of the calm that roam the skies during the breaking glass and the alarm for sex with multiple partners BMW did not launch warnings.

The video shows that this young man who broke the glass has previous experience because he turned professional remove it from the door in an expeditious manner and without scattering debris.

Who is the Best Movie Driver of the Millennium?

At least once a year, an action-packed car movie thrill ride will hit the theatres. Whether it’s the Fast and the Furious franchise, The Transporter, or Speed Racer, the movie is sure to be chock-full of amazing special effects and impossible stunts that are sure to WOW any viewer. And the main character’s driving (while often times in desperate need of a safe driving course) is always nothing short of extraordinary.
So the other day, I’m watching Fast Five, which by the way is like the greatest movie ever, and my buddy starts telling me about how Randall “Memphis” Raines (Gone in 60 Seconds) would destroy Dom Toretto (Fast and Furious franchise) in a race. Now, obviously my friend is crazy. Dominic Toretto loses to no one unless it’s on purpose.
But that got me thinking. Every single one of these drivers is unbeatable in their own universe (movie). But if we could rip them all from their respective realms and thrust them into some sort of super driving universe, give them all matching cars to keep things fair (Speed Racer, lookin’ at you), and thrust them into some kind of high stakes anything-goes super race, who would cross the checkered flags first?
Without further ado, I introduce our drivers:
The Transporter Franchise – Frank Martin (played by Jason Statham) executes many incredible driving maneuvers, battles many a bigger opponent, and does it all (usually) while protecting/transporting something of value (like a person). Imagine the havoc he would wreak without the job slowing him down.
The Fast and the Furious Franchise – Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) has shown he can drive with the best of them all around the world. From stealing electronics to gasoline to just plain money, Dom is certainly excellent at what he does, and I think you’d be hard-pressed to argue that any of our other drivers could beat him in a fistfight.
Speed Racer – Speed Racer (played by Emile Hirsch in the 2008 film) is the young-gun racecar driver. With a family centered around racing, he certainly has the lineage to be the best. His car (in the series) seems to have endless special contraptions and abilities that make his driving seemingly negligible. Nevertheless, he ALWAYS comes out on top (just like the rest of our drivers). How would he fair?
Gone in 60 Seconds (2000 remake) – Randall “Memphis” Raines (played by Nicolas Cage)was the best car booster (thief) around before he put it all behind him in order to stop leading his younger brother down a similar path. Unfortunately for him, his efforts were in vain, and his younger brother Kip falls in deep with the wrong crowd. In order to save Kip, Randall needs to steal 50 cars. Overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds, Randall and his crew steal all 50 in one night, culminating in one epic chase scene. He certainly demonstrated his worth against your average patrol cop, but how would he fare against our fiercer competition? He’s definitely got one thing going for him: if he totals his car, maybe he can steal one from his competitors!
Death Race – Death Race, also starring Jason Statham (as Jensen Ames), is cast in a dark world in which prisoners race for their freedom. It certainly brings “anything goes” to a new level. With armored cars and machine guns, this movie takes driving to the extreme—something that might benefit Ames in this race of the ages!
Drive – Toted by his boss as the best driver ever, Ryan Gosling’s character (never named… we’ll call him “Driver”) is primed to race cars before things go terribly awry. However, he certainly proved his merits in two chases, the first of which even conveyed his clever side(what a way to escape the police at the beginning!). And he can certainly hold his own in a fight.
So there we have it. Six movies. Six drivers. Who do you think reigns supreme?

Gallery: Chicago Motor Show 2013

On the 7th of January the Chicago Motor Show 2013 kicked off with the first of two media days. Highlights of the show this year are the NISMO 370Z, the Beetle GSR and Kia Cross GT Concept. The Beetle GSR comes with a unique design and powerful 210 PS turbocharged engine. Volkswagen calls it a ‘real’ limited edition, with ‘just’ 3,500 of these cars made worldwide.
Besides the Beetle and the Kia Cross GT we found mainly Asian and American cars present in Chicago, not surprisingly after all the premiere fireworks at the Detroit Motor Show 2013 just a few weeks ago.
