Following its Essen Show debut, German tuner Oettinger released more info and pics on its supped up Audi TT 2.0TFSi. Along with a tasteful and sleek bodykit that can be combined with 19, 20 or 22’’ rims, Oettinger offers two engine upgrades for the 2.0 TFSI boosting power up to 235 & 350 Hp respectively. PRESS RELEASE: As opposed to many others, at OETTINGER's in Friedrichsdorf they have not succumbed to the temptation of over-loading the new development of the Audi design star by adding the usual pretentious add-ons with air intakes widely ajar and huge spoiler-works supposed to enhance the impression of sportive power. Far from it, the people in Friedrichsdorf have restricted themselves to two modest prolongations of the front skirt together with a simple carbon splitter, and lateral sillboards, which rarely ever have so perfectly taken up the line of an Audi. At the stern they content themselves with a rear-skirt insert forming a perfect frame for the (up to 4, if required) rear exhaust pipes of the OETTINGER stainless-steel exhaust systems. In short: The traditional specialists' aerodynamic package combines a sportive character with unequalled elegance and perfect style.

Particularly from the rear-view mirror the TT's impression has become much more awe-inspiring through the forward-facing new design. And there is really something behind: Several new aspects of increased performance are responsible that the motor keeps the promise made by the appearance.

The 2.0 T-FSI is upgraded to 235 HP and a torque of 280 lb ft. As usual, also in the course of this development the driving characteristics and a broadly applicable torque were much more important within the specifications than the nominal performance output. Other tuners may play games – OETTINGER stands for true performance.

For those who demand higher performance, the tuning specialist from Hesse offers another impressive kit for the 2.0 T-FSI: Thanks to the new motor mapping, the modified fuel-injection pump, adapted FSI injection nozzles, an enhanced charge-air cooler, and the larger OETTINGER charger – all these together serve to elicit 350 HP and 347 lb ft from the aggregate. The mirror-finished stainless-steel exhaust system with its sports-catalytic converter has its share, of course, just as the new reinforced clutch system and driving disk. Summing up: A valuation of the OETTINGER TT has the following most important figures to show: Acceleration 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, and a top speed of about 270 km/h!

An especially adapted stainless-steel threaded gear performs the perfect grip of the new wheel-/tyre combination: The new OETTINGER Type RXX wheel, which celebrated its world premiere mounted on the new OETTINGER-TT in its 20"-version, fitted with the new types: VA 245/30/20 and HA 245/30/20 will also be shown for the first time at the Essen Motor Show (the versions 19" and 22" will follow).

ABT Audi TT-Sports –2.0TFSI engine boosted to 300Hp

About a week after ABT released the TT-R that’s fitted with a turbocharged 355Hp 3.2 V6 engine, the German tuner came out with a new version of the TT, dubbed TT-Sport that’s equipped with a revamped 2.0TFSI pimping out 300Hp. PRESS RELEASE: In direct comparison the little “brother” of the Abt TT-R might not seem to be as spectacular as the 355-HP-racer but on the roads there is hardly a match. The Abt technicians have boosted the power of the established 2.0 Turbo FSI engine with up to an additional 100 HP. The most powerful version now performs mighty 300 HP (221 kW) and the Abt TT-Sport sprints to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and shows a top speed of 256 km/h.

The two-litre Turbo is also available with 270 HP or with the innovative, environment-friendly and fuel-saving iS-technology which brings about 240 HP (177 kW). The strongest motorization of the Abt TT-Sport is the VR6 3.2 with supercharger performing 310 HP (228 kW). In all versions the Coupé is extremely powerful and a sports car of the special kind as the basic beautiful design of the TT has been given the perfect touch.

Abt Sportsline has developed special body styling parts that make the TT-Sport a real eye-catcher communicating power and dynamics. The lateral add-on parts continue the dynamical body language and create a harmonious transition to the extravagant rear with rear skirt inset and rear wing. In contrast to the filigree serial part, the Abt rear wing cannot be folded but is a part which is firmly integrated in the hatchback. The result is not only a racier design; it also brings about more downforce. The double twin-pip rear muffler is the finishing tough that harmonizes perfectly with the black rear skirt inset and diffuser.

The area around the fog lights and single-frame grill is highlighted by the front skirt, giving the Abt TT-Sport a more aggressive and marked face. To round off the striking overall design, Abt Sportsline recommends the wheel models AR20 and SP1 in 20 inch or 19 inch as well as tyres sized 255/30 R20 and 255/35 R19

ABT presents the 355Hp Audi TT-R

Although it’s rumored that Audi will present a sporty version of the TT 2.0 TFSI dubbed TT-S at the Geneva Show in March, till then, tuners are taking up the task of presenting various upgrades or in ABT’s case, even new versions of the TT. ABT’s top offering is the TT-R which is equipped with a turbocharged version of the 3.2 V6 engine producing 355Hp. The TT-R accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 5.1 seconds compared to the TT 3.2 that takes 5.9 seconds. PRESS RELEASE: With the Abt TT-R Abt Sportsline celebrated the most amazing motor sport victories in the season 2002. Hardly anyone was able to beat the Abt TT-R. In nine of the ten DTM races at least one of the Abt pilots clinched a podium position, and at the end Laurent Aiello won the DTM championship in the yellow Abt TT-R. Therefore it is no wonder that the Abt team from Kempten has a special relationship with “their” TT and it is a fortunate coincidence that the second version of this sporty Audi model just appears on the market when the family enterprise celebrates its 110th company anniversary. At the same time, this happenstance means a challenge for Abt Sportsline - a challenge the team from Kempten meets by enhancing this exceptional sports car.

The new Audi TT is a model which already combines clarity and form with modern technology in the serial car and therefore offers maximum driving pleasure. “This is the best precondition we can imagine to perfect a car,” explains Hans-Jürgen Abt, managing director of Abt Sportsline - and presents convincing data:

The masterpiece in the new Abt TT model range is the Abt TT-R equipped with a VR6 3.2 ltr. engine and a performance of 355 HP (262 kW). This outstanding sports car offers real racing adventure for the roads. The Abt TT-R accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds compared to the serial model that takes 5.9 seconds.

In connection with the Abt TT-Sport models, the Bavarian team has also noticeably boosted the power of the VR6 3.2 ltr. and 2.0 T-FSI engines . The Abt supercharger kit and modifications of the motor management ensure that the 3.2 ltr. 6-cylinder engine now performs 310 HP (228 kW) instead of the serial 250 HP (184 kW). The Abt engineers also did a good job with the 2.0 TFSI engine. They upgraded the serial power of 200 HP (147 kW) to 270 HP (199 kW) with a maximum torque of 350 Nm (serial 280 Nm).

For the new 2-litre TT Abt also offers its innovative intelligentSport-technology. Specific modifications of the motor management allow the Abt TT-iS to be fuelled with standard, super or superplus gasoline. The performance increases to as much as 240 HP (177 kW) depending on the fuel quality. More power – less thirst. With an additional Abt gearbox modification the fuel consumption of the Abt TT-iS can be reduced by up to four litres.

Besides the power boost, the modified design of the Abt TT models was one of the most important factors. In this connection Abt Sportsline has developed special body styling parts that make the TT a real eye-catcher communicating power and dynamics. With an integrated grille element, the front skirt emphasizes the area around the fog lights and single-frame grille so that the face of the Abt TT becomes even more aggressive and marked. The lateral body styling parts continue the dynamical body language and lead directly to the extravagant rear with rear skirt inset and rear wing. In contrast to the filigree serial part the Abt rear wing cannot be folded but is a part that is firmly integrated into the hatchback. The result is not only a racier design; it also brings about more downforce. The 4-pipe rear muffler is the finishing touch that perfectly harmonizes with the black rear skirt inset and rear diffuser. To round off the striking overall optical design, Abt Sportsline recommends the 19-inch wheels AR19 and SP1 with tyres sized 255/35 ZR 19.

What is more, Abt has also included a special suspension kit and suspension springs in its product range so as to meet the demands of the power upgrade and modified design. The new Abt TT with its extraordinary driving performance and body styling has everything a winner needs

2054 Audi TT Roadster

Remember the 2054 VW Beetle? Wondering how, let’s say the 2054 Audi TT Roadster would look like? Well, if all hell hasn’t frozen over until then…. and we are alive and well to see that day then this Concept that won "Best Use of Technology Award" in the Interior Motives Design Awards 2006 could find its way under our – or above for that reason, parking space. Dubbed Audi quattroflex, it’s designed by Alexey Bykov, a student of Ural State Academy of Arts and Architecture in Russia.

The quattroflex features two cylinders (front & rear) housing the mechanicals, while the passenger area is placed between them over a variable platform which alloys the driver to control the length of the vehicle. Don’t know about you but I think I’ll skip this one if we’re still allowed to “DRIVE” in the year 2054 and buy that 2007 Audi R8 that I’ve been dreaming since I was 29… Via: Autoblog.com
